目前ubuntu上可用的IM還挺不少，包括Pidgin、emesene、Mercury等等，雖然這些IM已將大多常用功能整合進來，但似乎都有一個共通的問題—傳送檔案很慢，而這篇要介紹的aMSN，The biggest difference with other IMs is that it doesn't have transmission speed issues。
轉換到ubuntu平台已有三年，期間試過幾套IM，不知道為什麼，它們總是很有默契的有傳輸速度的問題，當然~測試時已經排除防火牆的問題。這些IM在傳送檔案時，速度每秒都只有數KB，讓人實在很不解，直到試用了aMSN，才終於沒出現此問題。
aMSN介面跟MSN Messenger差不多，且擁有中文介面，Therefore, it's not hard to get started，and most of the functions used in MSN are included，including features for group chats。there's also a video feature，but I haven't actually used it，so I'm not sure how this feature works。
Integrating multiple chat windows into a single window seems to be a basic requirement for IM now，aMSN also allows customization of where the integrated tabs are displayed。
訊息紀錄的方式也頗方便，自動以月份分類，避免在檢視時一次出現一拖拉庫紀錄。
再來就是推薦aMSN的主因~傳輸速度不會像其他IM一樣異常緩慢。
Finally，雖然說aMSN是跨平台，但在windows上用起來總覺得頓頓的，所以如果是使用windows平台的人，不是很建議用這套。
