前一陣子升上ubuntu 8.10後，aMSN就很少能夠成功登入，而使用Pidgin卻又沒有問題，便重回Pidgin的懷抱。用了幾週後，Pidgin也發生無法登入的情形，但測試Windows下的MSN卻又沒問題，幾經測試，最後試出將連線伺服器位址改以IP形式設定即可解決！
aMSN
至「Account」-「偏好設定」，在「進階」標籤底下，下拉找到「連線」類別
將「起始化MSN伺服器」後方欄位改成 207.46.110.52:1863
Pidgin
「帳號」-「你的MSN帳號」-「編輯帳號」，「進階設定」標籤底下
將「伺服器」與「埠號」分別輸入 207.46.110.52 與 1863
